Issue 112 - Autumn/Winter

I have so many people to thank…

…for their support during my illness, not least the small team who have kept East Lothian Life going over these past 12 months and all the doctors and nurses who have kept me going! Your get-well cards and letters have brightened many a day and your good wishes have been a great source of comfort and encouragement. A heartfelt thank you.

Due to my health constraints I decided to combine my autumn/winter issues. Fingers crossed I will be back on track for next year.

The natural beauty and wide-ranging appeal of East Lothian continue to inspire. The resulting creativity never fails to astound me. From designing a seaside courtyard garden; building your own bothy; putting paint to canvass or making your own scarecrow; all these ideas and projects have a subconscious starting point in our ancient heritage and immediate surroundings.

Rediscover the joys of home cooking using local produce. Read about the history of Tantallon Castle, Guy Fawkes, the ‘Union of South Africa’ steam locomotive and so much more. Browse through the contents and take your pick – and don’t forget our advertisers, who help make East Lothian Life possible.

Enjoy the autumn/winter season. Find time to explore your surroundings and stay safe.

Our stunning from cover is a painting by Esther Cohen of Tantallon Studios, North Berwick. https://tantallonstudios.com/
